Now we are going to be registering for our 10 hours of online adoption coursework. We'll also need the do the home visits from the social worker. I'm trying to get some more information about the timeline. I'm learning you have to be pretty persistent in the process to get the information you need when you need it and to push the process forward.
We've had 11 gracious and generous people volunteer to fill baby bottles for us so far! One was already turned in! I'm excited to return it to the bank on Monday. I keep a spreadsheet on our desktop with every little money that comes in. From the $15 from babysitting to the $12 from burp cloths to $36.86 in change from a baby bottle... every little bit is adding up and we are so grateful!
Burp cloth order in the process!
I'm babysitting one night this coming week!
We even received a donation for our upcoming garage sale!
Additionally, we were blown away recently when, on two different days in the same week, we received money in the mail from friends for the adoption! It's a very humbly experience to receive and accept money from other people for this cause.
That brings our grand total of fundraising to $1,196.01. Plus we have been and are saving as much money as we can and adding it the adoption savings account we started last fall. Pinching pennies has a whole meaning lately.

The other fundraiser that is coming up next month (April 20th) is our fundraiser dinner! My wonderful friend is going to come make homemade tortillas for this Burrito Night extravaganza. My mom is going to bake delicious cookies. We are going to transform our living room into a restaurant for the night. I know it will be a lot of work but I am actually pretty excited about it. I enjoy hosting. We'd love to make $500 from the event though I know that may lofty goal. I'm excited to invite people into our home either way. We'll be needing to borrow some chairs and crock pots but I think we have tables covered. We're also looking into getting some of the supplies donated to offset the cost since we want 100% of the proceeds to go to adoption and are trying to absorb the cost of the food. If you'd like to come and didn't get the facebook invite just let us know by leaving a comment or "contacting us".
Continue to pray for us as we wade through this long but exciting process. It's quite a journey!
