It's also a reminder to me of God's hand in this process and how his provision really is amazing! It's not hard to be working hard on a fundraiser and think about how much YOU are working to do the project. For example, we had our 4 mega garage sales this summer with countless hours of time put into them where we made about $1700. Then with one phone call we find out we are being awarded a grant for doing absolutely nothing!! Less of us, more of God! Amazing!
So with that grant we will be 52% funded!! We're saving and setting aside as much money as we can and continuing to do fundraising.
I'm hoping to tutor a couple evenings a week this school year. I took a class this summer to renew my teaching license and am hoping it will be a neat way to earn a little bit of money toward the adoption and also continue to engage my teaching brain (besides preschool stuff with my boys ;) You can check out my website for more information if you're in the Salem area.
Our newest fundraiser is going to be a fun one! We are doing a 3 on 3 basketball tournament in our church gymnasium! Here is the basic information:
~We will be accepting 10 teams for the tournament
~Three players will be in at a time but teams can have additional players to sub in
~Games will be played half court
~We will have referees
~Tournament will be double elimination, so each team will play at least two games
~Cost is $60 per team (e.g. $12 per person for a team of 5)
~The tournament will be Saturday, September 28th beginning at 9am for the first four teams. You will receive a start time before the tournament
~Players need to bring a black and white shirt for team differentiation
We're going to have puzzle pieces available to be sponsored, a raffle, face painting, cookies, and more.
